Financial Planner, Investment Advisor

PWL Wealth Management is a premier independent Canadian Wealth Management firm. Canadian High Net Worth families entrust PWL to manage their investment portfolios on a discretionary basis and provide holistic financial advice for all facets of their lives. Financial Planning, Tax and Estate services are delivered via PWL Conseil, and investment management is delivered via PWL Capital which is a Broker Dealer and IIROC member firm. Both PWL Conseil and PWL Capital are wholly owned subsidiaries of PWL Wealth Management.


This role is ideal for a driven Financial Planner with at least 3-5 years’ experience in the financial services industry. Candidates will focus on delivering an exceptional experience to clients by assisting them with their daily requests and financial needs. The candidate should have a high level of competency in financial management, investment planning, insurance and risk management, tax planning, retirement planning, and estate planning. It is expected that employees in this role will continuously build their own expertise in financial planning, tax, insurance, and portfolio management through the pursuit of continuing education. The candidate will be responsible for formulating and implementing advice specific and relevant to each client scenario.

The candidate will be responsible for managing many client relationships but usually not expected to generate prospects and develop new client relationships. This role is ideal for a candidate who wants to provide conflict-free comprehensive financial planning advice to clients, without any sales pressure.

Responsibilities & Activities

  • Respond to client inquiries and requests for information in a timely and accurate manner
  • Provide advice to clients to help them form and realize meaningful financial goals
  • Present thoughtful responses to questions in a way that is easily understood by clients
  • Track, coordinate and gather data for financial planning and wealth management activities
  • Prepare financial projections using firm approved software
  • Conduct comprehensive insurance needs analysis
  • Delegate tasks to financial planning associate, operations, and trading teams
  • Must be a motivated, independent self-starter
  • Must be able to function well within a team environment
  • Exceptional time management skills and ability to multi-task
  • Perform other duties, as assigned by Advisor Services Lead


  • Must have at least 3-5 years of experience within the financial services industry
  • Must be IIROC licensed as a Registered Representative or have completed the required exams (i.e., CSC, CPH, WME)
  • Must have completed the CFP Designation
  • Proficient knowledge of investing and financial planning
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Experience with Naviplan is an asset
  • Actively pursuing the CIM Designation is an asset
  • Other financial designations are considered an asset
