PWL Wealth Management is a premier independent Canadian Wealth Management firm. Canadian High Net Worth families entrust PWL to manage their investment portfolios on a discretionary basis and provide holistic financial advice for all facets of their lives.

Financial Planning, Tax and Estate services are delivered via PWL Conseil, and investment management is delivered via PWL Capital which is a Broker Dealer and IIROC member firm. Both PWL Conseil and PWL Capital are wholly owned subsidiaries of PWL Wealth Management, with more than 90 employees.

POSITION SUMMARY

The successful candidate for the Business Systems Analyst position will specialize in providing system specific analysis, software testing and application support on projects, enhancements and operations support related to PWL’s information systems. The candidate will be the liaison between a variety of user groups to ensure interfaces for our business ’s software and hardware are user friendly.

RESPONSIBILITIES & ACTIVITIES

  • Define, document, and translate business requirements into detailed functional specifications, considering non-functional requirements
  • Business process mapping for as-is and to-be processes
  • Identifying opportunities for improving business processes
  • Creating, executing, and reviewing Test Plans and Test Scenarios
  • Validating Test Results and analyzing defects
  • Prepare and conduct reviews and training sessions
  • Produce technical requirements based on high level business requirements
  • Understand API specifications, payloads and integration and assist in troubleshooting
  • Utilize complex SQL skills to troubleshoot data related issues
  • Assistance to 3rd level support activities.
  • Understand the client and advisor team experience to offer self-service BI solutions to the business units
  • Managing and delivering the data elements on key projects, working closely with the Head of Operations and Strategic Projects

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business and/or Computer Science/IT or equivalent experience
  • Certifications in any related business or technical competencies desired
  • Experience in Wealth and Asset Management, or Banking is an asset
  • 5-7 years of business analysis experience in software development, preferable on Azure based platforms
  • 5+ years of IT development, business intelligence, data, and project management experience
  • 5+ years working within any of the following industry segments to deliver solutions: Investments/Brokerage/Financial Services
  • Strong data analysis with ability to handle complex business rules
  • SQL query skill level of at least 4 on a scale of 1-5 with 5 being highest
  • Technical background working in software development team
  • IT Methodologies: Waterfall, Agile
  • Strong experience with Microsoft tools: Excel, Word, Visio, PowerPoint
  • Knowledgeable in data models, API specs, API integration
  • Personal organization skills to manage work effort to produce quality documentation in a productive and efficient manner
  • Takes ownership and has strong written and verbal communication skills to express concepts that are appropriate to the target audience
  • Collaborate and build effective working relationships with colleagues across technology and the business to achieve business and IT objectives
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities
