We announced last month that we’ve embarked on an exciting new chapter in our history with the appointment of Brenda Bartlett to take over from me as PWL’s new CEO.
This is very good news for our firm, for our clients and for me personally. With over 25 years in the investment industry, including the last 12 as PWL’s President and Chief Operating Officer, Brenda brings outstanding skills and experience to her new role.
She has been a key part of the leadership team that has seen our firm grow to $2.7 billion in assets under management from $780 million five years ago. We now have 58 employees. Over the years, Brenda has successfully guided PWL through many business challenges, including keeping pace with the constant need to upgrade our technology to ensure we can provide our clients with highest levels of service and regulatory compliance.
Our success is built on a steadfast commitment to integrity, transparency and evidence-based investing. Brenda’s personal commitment to this vision, along with her talent as an entrepreneur and manager, give me total confidence that our firm has the right leader for the years ahead.
As for my future, I may be taking a step back from PWL’s day-to-day management, but I can assure you that nothing will change in terms of my relationship with my clients as an advisor and portfolio manager. I remain here for them, just as I have over the years. I will also continue to participate in key decisions about the firm’s operations and future direction as Chairman.
Our firm is strong, and you can have confidence that Brenda, I and the whole PWL team will not waver from the principles upon which PWL was founded and upon which it has grown into the firm we are so proud of today.
