PWL Wealth Management Inc. – PWL’s Montreal Head Office is seeking an IT User Support professional to join our Corporate Team and fulfill an essential role supporting and advancing our IT user community in this fast growing organization. This position reports to the President and C.O.O. This is your chance to play a key role in IT, recommending and implementing enhancements, supporting and training almost 50 users in 4 cities, Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto and Waterloo.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The IT User Support & Training professional plays a crucial role in creating a collaborative proactive relationship between you and our Advisor Teams – your internal clients and user community. Your scope of responsibility is to assist PWL as an organization. The purpose of this role is to anticipate and equip all Team members and Corporate staff with IT tools and training. You must have an understanding of computing procedures and standards, as well as desktop and network configurations. Ability to operate a wide variety of media equipment. Skilled at troubleshooting and performing simple and moderate repairs.

CREATING THE USER / IT SUPPORT EXPERIENCE

  • Always present a professional and pleasant attitude
  • Have a strong sense of personal responsibility for creating a positive office atmosphere
  • Be ready to take personal initiative in anticipating User needs, and enhancing the IT tool set for users.
  • Assure continuity of the computer system for all system users.
  • Research software products and applicability to organizational environment. • Install selected software and hardware products.
  • Repair hardware as necessary and work closely with service vendors to ensure continuity of service.
  • Stay abreast of the latest developments in MIS technology.
  • Be "on-call" for all periods as assigned by manager.
  • Provide technical assistance and advice to users as needed.
  • Recommend changes in software and hardware to improve computer capabilities.

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • User support in a Microsoft environment (ie, Windows 7, 10, Office, etc.)
  • Maintain Support desk
  • Maintain documents/logs for audit purposes
  • Phone system administration
  • Printer support
  • Email system support/administration
  • Work with external vendor supplying network/computer support
  • Setup new/upgrade computers (Windows/Mac/IPads)
  • Install/upgrade application software
  • Support MS Office applications

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • 1-3 years of relevant IT experience in a Windows computing environment (Windows 7,10, Windows server 2012).
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, attitude, and phone skills
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft work environments
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Education : College or University degree is considered an asset
  • Background in financial services is an asset, but not required
  • Any relevant industry certifications a plus
  • Excellent oral and written communication in English and French
