Diversification – The Only Free Lunch in Investing

Diversification is a concept that means spreading your investments out over a variety of securities. It’s the opposite of putting all your eggs in one basket. There are many ways to diversify, including:

  1. Buying different Asset Classes
  2. Investing in Various Geographies
  3. Selecting multiple economic sectors
  4. Holding different currencies
  5. Choosing many individual securities

In investing, diversification is deemed as the only free lunch. What does that mean, and is it really true? I answer these questions and explain in more detail what diversification means in today’s video:
