The Evolution of Stock Trading

Trading volume on North American exchanges has increased 8-fold over the past 15 years.  One example of this is that shares in Apple stock often trade more than $6 billion per day.

In addition to higher volumes, there are also new Electronic Communication Networks (ECNs) that give traders new options for where to trade stock, instead of on the traditional exchanges.

In this week’s Science of Investing, Cameron and host Jason McIntyre discuss the implications for traders and retail investors.
