The Illusionary Allure of Hedge Funds (Alternative Investments, Part 3)

April 27, 2018 - 0 comments

To continue my ongoing series on alternate investments, let’s take on one of the most alluring alternatives of all today. I’m talking about hedge funds.

Hedge funds have been known to put on a dazzling show for the press, and their exclusivity creates an appeal; you typically have to be an “accredited investor” and  have a lot of money to pony up before you’re even allowed to invest.

AnchorBut before you covet getting past the hedge fund industry’s proverbial velvet rope, let’s apply some common sense to the offer: Are hedge funds’ typically high costs, relative illiquidity, and host of other risks even worth the price of entry?

While investing in hedge funds may be difficult, Common Sense Investing is easy.  Just subscribe to my channel and you’re in the club.
