Tony is a founding partner, Chairman, CEO and portfolio manager at PWL.
Knowing that trust is essential to building strong relationships with his clients, he takes great care to understand their needs before providing comprehensive analyses and sound advice.
His 35 years in wealth management have provided him with an in-depth knowledge of portfolio principles that he applies for the benefit of each of his clients.
Since 1980, Tony has been committed to the establishment and growth of wealth management in Canada through independent and conflict-free financial services firms. Recently he has contributed to the establishment of GAIA (The Global Association of Independent Advisors), an international association of firms dedicated to fiduciary excellence. He is a past National Chairman of the Canadian Association of Financial Planners (CAFP, now Advocis).
Tony volunteers his time and energy with a number of organizations, including McGill’s Desautels Faculty of Management, the Nature Conservancy of Canada (NCC), the Allegra Chamber Music Foundation and the Montreal Chamber Music Festival. He also plays a very active role in community organizations in Montreal and the Laurentians. Tony is also a material shareholder and a Director on the Board of Agile IP, a VoIP phone system provider.

Peter joined forces with Tony 10 years ago, to help build his team’s investment expertise and improve client service. Peter is a Portfolio Manager and Financial Planner, applying his passion for macro-economics and efficient planning for the benefit of clients, to reduce the uncertainty of investing and achieve their goals. Peter also supports the corporate team at PWL, acting as an advisor to the Operations department and leading projects with the Research Department. He recently completed his Executive MBA through Cornell and Queens Universities and obtained the CFA charter in 2008.
Peter remains active in the Montreal community. He is a founding member of the Emerging Leader’s Committee of the Montreal Heart Institute Foundation, serves on the board of the Loyola High School Foundation and was previously President of the Montreal branch of the Canadian International Council. He pursues his passion for the outdoors through back-country skiing, camping, and spending weekends at his family’s cottage on Lake Champlain.
Shweta joined the Layton Guay team in February 2009. Her experience and attention to detail are cornerstones of the team's dedication to superior client service. Shweta’s primary areas of focus are portfolio management, cash management and trading.
Shweta’s personal interests and pursuits include a strong passion for travel and visual arts; particularly for photography. Shweta also volunteers as an Indian classical musician for various cultural centres within the Montreal community.
Mario joined PWL Advisors in 2000 and, in 2001; he successfully completed the Canadian Securities Course. Mario's dedication and commitment is second only to his ability to provide clients with meticulous financial planning. He creates viable solutions to adhoc problems involving complex individual needs.
He earned the title of Financial Planner from the IQPF in 1998, and then went on to graduate from the Université du Québec à Montreal in 1999 with a certificate in Insurance and Finance (Assurance et Intervention Financière).
Rebecca joined the Layton-Guay team in December 2013 as a maternity leave replacement for Andrea MacKimmie. She brings with her four years of experience in marketing coordination in the field of commercial real-estate, and over a decade in client service.
At PWL, Rebecca manages all manner of administrative duties as well as co-ordinating communications for the Layton-Guay team. She also performs countless specialized tasks in order to support the team and facilitate the exceptional client experience that PWL is known for.
Justin Spina came to Montreal from St. Johnsbury, Vermont in 1999 where he did his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science at McGill and Concordia University. He has been employed as a tax specialist since 2006 and is presently preparing to become an IRS Enrolled Agent to expand his knowledge of US taxation. At PWL, Justin’s primary duties entail tax preparation, tax and financial planning, and acting as an intermediary between clients and federal/provincial tax authorities.
Justin’s personal interests include baseball, football, golf, and alpine skiing; he also enjoys playing music, reading, film, politics, history, and has a particularly strong interest in astronomy and the future of space exploration.
Olivier joined the Layton-Guay team in July 2014, after graduating from HEC Montreal with a Bachelor’s degree in business administration, specialising in finance. Olivier has since completed the 3 levels of the CFA program and is building his experience to obtain the CFA Charter in the next few years. He was an avid member of the University of Montreal alpine ski team.
Olivier is responsible for account administration within the Layton-Guay team, including new account openings and transfers.
