The PWL team has been getting some great media coverage recently!

Since mid-April, our Ottawa team has been participating in the radio show “Business at Night” on CFRA 580 every Thursday evening from 7:00 to 8:00. In our segment, “The Science of Investing”, our advisors take an academic paper or research study on some aspect of investing and discuss how the findings contribute to the development of a solid investment strategy. If you’ve missed any of our interviews, you can catch them on our website. And if there are any topics you’d like to hear us discuss, let us know. We welcome your ideas!

The July issue of Advisor’s Edge, a trade publication for financial advisors, features an article by our President, Anthony S. Layton, on the benefits of passive investing. Drawing on data that show how few actively managed mutual funds outperform their respective benchmarks, Anthony shows how the passive approach minimizes emotional turmoil and the mistakes brought on by market timing. A very timely message given the state of markets today! Check out our new website for a copy of Anthony’s article.

And, finally, the Montreal Gazette covered PWL Capital’s presentation given by American investment author Larry Swedroe to our clients on June 26 in Montreal. Larry, who also spoke at our Ottawa event on June 24, gave an “entertaining and persuasive presentation... that demonstrated why it’s illogical and most likely futile to attempt to beat the market”.
