In the light of the upcoming tax season you have recently received our income tax checklist and other forms to be completed and returned along with your income tax slips and documents. Prior to returning them, please make sure all forms are completed and signed.
Please note that since March 1st 2009 we have officially started our ‘’tax season’’, and we are ready to process your tax returns.
Please prepare and send us as soon as possible the slips and documents you have already received for you and your family. For the items usually more difficult to gather, please note:
Medical expenses:
- if you have a private medical insurance plan you can send us the forms received during 2008 from your insurance company (usually sent with a refund cheque);
- if you do not have a private medical insurance plan please send us all the receipts you have. In the absence of pharmacy receipts, you may ask your pharmacist to print you a statement of account for the 2008 transactions.
T3 slips (trust income): the reporting issuer has until March 31, 2009 to issue the T3 slips for the year 2008; therefore, you may receive them in early April. Please do not retain the rest of your tax documents only because you did not receive these slips. We will process the information you already have, and the T3 slips will be added once you receive them.
Capital gains and losses: if you have investments at other financial institutions, please contact your investment advisor in order to obtain a 2008 report of all capital transactions.
Your prompt response will be greatly appreciated, and it will allow us to prepare your tax returns in a timely and efficient manner.
Thank you.
